Christmas Style for the Natural Style Personality

Christmas Style for the Natural Style Personality

How do you dress for festive gatherings when you are a natural style personality who prefers comfort over glamour?

The natural style personality usually gravitates toward comfortable, casual, and relaxed clothing. They tend to prefer wearing natural fibres over synthetic and avoid too much bling or formality.

If sequins and sparkle just isn’t your thing then what are the alternatives to elevate your outfits to make them a bit more seasonal and special?

Quite often we have a few nights out in the run up to Christmas and the New Year, but this doesn’t necessarily mean lots of big parties where we need to be really dressed up.

More than likely, it will be pieces that we can wear in a smart, casual way for festive lunches and meeting up with friends and family that we need. This can often be a tricky thing to get right especially if it takes you out of your comfort zone of laid-back dressing.

To help you decide what might work for you I have put together some outfit ideas:

Natural Style Personality

Women:

selection of images of clothes for the natural style personality: jeans, blouse, dresses, jumpsuit, gold trainers and burgundy boots. background features graphics of Christmas tree, a string of christmas lights and some holly.

Jeans and a ‘nice top’

Choose a dark denim with a bit of natural stretch and pair this with a smart top, blouse, or tunic.

If you don’t like wearing much in the way of jewellery, then look for a top which has interesting detail or embellishment.

As a natural style personality, you will still want the feel of breathable fibres rather than anything synthetic or scratchy. Go for a fabric that drapes well or has a sheen to it, like silk and good quality cotton, viscose, or wool.

Footwear can still be practical but stylish. If you normally wear trainers, then you could try a leather flatform shoe or an ankle boot with a wedge heel.

Add a leather belt in a plain colour or a contrasting print to pull the outfit together.

Dresses

A sweater dress is a classic winter style which is easy to dress up or down. Chunky knits worn with opaque tights and boots help keep you cosy as well as stylish.

Cord is also an excellent choice for a dress and is having a bit of a fashion moment this year. Again, this pairs well with boots or smart trainers.

Jumpsuit

Like a dress it takes all the stress out of trying to match up top and bottoms. It is a one and done solution. There are lots of great styles to choose from and they can be a flattering and comfortable option.

Men:

Selection of outfits for the natural style personality: models wearing casual plaid shirts and blazer and flatlays of tee shirts, jumper, trousers, and shoes. Background features christmas graphics.

Trousers and a shirt or jumper

Swap out your everyday shirt for one in a fashion colour or in a bolder print. Alternatively choose festive knitwear such as a chunky cable knit or Fair Isle pattern.

Team these with smart jeans in a dark shade, or with a pair of chinos which come in a variety of colours.

A pair of Chelsea boots or a smart trainer style shoe would be ideal to finish off the look.

Relaxed suiting

Add a blazer to your jeans or chinos and swap the shirt for a tee shirt.
