Along the High Street: BHS

When was the last time you shopped in BHS?  It has certainly been a long time since it was considered a ‘go to’ stop on many peoples walk along the High Street.

Having struggled in recent years, its fortunes once again are hanging in the balance as a new consortium aims to turn it around.

However, I’d like to suggest that it is in fact worth popping in the next time you are in town.  If you are prepared to look you can still find some stylish gems at very affordable prices.

Another plus point from my point of view is that it stocks a good range of sizes, with most clothes available in size 8 – 22, as well as having other brands such as Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, and Evans also available under the one roof.

If budget is tight, they often have ‘Spectacular’ sale days throughout the season, where you can benefit from up to 30% off full price items.

These are just a few of the on trend gems I spotted in the Edinburgh store today:

Dark red faux leather dress
Faux leather is a key trend for 2015 and this dress is available in both plum and black options.

Paisley print shirt
Another key look is the boho or 70s trend. This would look great with a faux fur gilet.

Red check wrap
This combines two key trends of tartan/checks with the versatile cape/wrap.
